From Ueno or Nippori Station of the JR Yamanote Line,
take the JR Joban Line to Kashiwa Station.
From Akihabara Station of the JR Yamanote Line,
take the Tsukuba Express to Kashiwanoha Campus Station.
Access from the Kashiwa area
From the West exit of Kashiwa Station of the JR Joban Line,
take the Route Nishi-kashiwa 01 (西柏01) Tobu Bus bound for
the National Cancer Center via Kashiwanoha Park.
Get off at The University of Tokyo (Todai-mae / 東大前) bus stop
(about a 25-minute ride) and walk for about 3 minutes.
Access from the Kashiwanoha Campus station
Options from the West exit of the Kashiwanoha Campus station of the Tsukuba Express:
Walk for about 30 minutes.
Take the Tobu Bus (Routes Nishi-kashiwa 03 bound for Nagareyama Otakanomori Station East,
or Nishi-kashiwa 04 or 10 bound for Edogawadai Station East).
Get off at The University of Tokyo (Todai-mae / 東大前) bus stop (about a 13-minute ride)
and walk for about 3 minutes.
Take a taxi (about a 4-minute ride).
Access from the Edogawadai station
Take a taxi from the East exit of the Edogawadai Station of
the Tobu Urban Park Line (about a 5-minute ride).
The room assignments for each examination are listed in the Examination Schedule
and List of Examination Venues accompanying the examination admission ticket.
There will also be signs posted at the main entrance of the Institute for Solid State Physics
(written examinations) and Transdisciplinary Sciences Building (oral examinations),
as well as in front of each examination room on the day of the examinations.
Applicants must be seated in the proper examination room at least 25 minutes
for the examination for subject areas and 15 minutes for other examinations prior
to the scheduled examination time.
Late arrivals should report to the proctor in the examination room.
3. What to Bring
Examinees must bring the examination admission ticket, black pencils (or mechanical pencils),
erasers, a pencil sharpener (if necessary; no desktop sharpeners allowed),
and a scientific calculator. Watches are allowed, but must not have any other functions.
4. Examination Policies
Examinees may not leave the room during the examination even if they
finish solving the problems. As for the examination for subject areas,
examinees may not leave the examination room until the proctors finish
collecting and checking the answer sheets. This process will take about 15 minutes.
Examinees may not go to the restroom during the examination unless it is an emergency.
Turn off cell phones and other similar devices during the examination.
(Such devices may not be used as a watch.)
Place the examination admission ticket on top of the desk during the examination.
Fill in the admission ticket number on each answer sheet. Do not write your name.
Write answers in the spaces provided. If more space is needed,
use the reverse side of the answer sheet.
Submit the answer sheet with the admission ticket number filled in,
even if you are unable to answer the questions.
Questions about the exams are not allowed in principle.
However, if you find typographic or other errors the questions, please inform the proctors.
The answer sheets and the examination booklet must remain in the examination room.
